SPANISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

INFORMATION

1. LEVELS

• The courses and levels taught at EOI Valencia are as follows:

1. BASIC LEVEL

• BASIC LEVEL YEAR 1 BASIC LEVEL YEAR 2

1. INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

• INTERMEDIATE LEVEL YEAR 1 INTERMEDIATE LEVEL YEAR 2

1. ADVANCED LEVEL

• ADVANCED LEVEL YEAR 1 ADVANCED LEVEL YEAR 2

2. ADMISSION

• It is necessary to pre-register at our webpage before July 15 th (www.eoivalencia.es).
• The minimum age to start studying at Basic Level is 14.
• Non-EU citizens must have a valid residence permit.
• To register in the Intermediate or Advanced levels, applicants must also have one of the following diplomas or certificates:

BASIC LEVEL 1

• Places will be decided by a draw

INTERMEDIATE

• Certificado del Nivel Básico obtained at an Escuela Oficial de Idiomas
• Diploma de Español Lengua Extranjera (DELE) issued by Instituto Cervantes:

Level A2

ADVANCED

• Diploma de Español Lengua Extranjera (DELE) issued by Instituto Cervantes:

Level B1

•  Certificado de Nivel Intermedio obtained at an Escuela Oficial de Idiomas

3. TYPES AND DURATION OF COURSES

• Each course consists of 120 hours tuition.
• There are intensive and regular courses:

a) Regular: 2 hours tuition twice a week (mornings/afternoons)

• From October to May (60 / 2 hr. sessions)

1. Basic 1 & 2
2. Intermediate 1 & 2
3. Advanced 1 & 2

b) Intensive: 2 hours tuition daily (mornings/afternoons)

From October to January (60 / 2 hr. sessions)

1. Basic 1
2. Intermediate 1

• From January to May (60 / 2 hr. sessions)

1. Basic 2
2. Intermediate 2

4. REGISTRATION

• The registration fee for a complete course is approximately 65€.
• For new students registration will take place in September.
• BASIC 1: Places will be decided by a draw.  The dates will be announced by the EOI administration.
• REGISTRATION.The actual day and time for registration will be published on our web page (www.eoivalencia.es. Departamento de Español). All applicants must check this list.
• During the first week of October those who did not pre-register can check if there are any vacancies to study at the EOI.

1. PLACEMENT TEST (PRUEBA DE NIVEL)

September.

• This test allows students with previous knowledge of Spanish to register in

Basic , Intermediate or Advanced Level Year 2 .

• The fee for this exam is approximately 25€, and must be paid before the exam

(check dates on the school web page).

January.

 This test allows students with previous knowledge of Spanish to register only in

Basic Level Year 2 directly.

Important: registration and placement level fees are not refundable.
